About me

I follow the sun, even when it’s behind the clouds. My kiddies are the inspiration for this blog.

After living and working in NYC for 8 years, I’m now a SAHM in a burby kinda neighborhood  This blog is about my transition from city girl to Mommy girl. This is the sweetest time of my life.

I could use more sleep, though. Showers everyday would be nice, too. But, I digress.

I’m 37. I grew up in Miami, before it became the hot-spot it is now. No, I did not grow up on South Beach. Yes, I know and love gay people. No, I’m not Cuban. Though, my husband is! Yes, I’m Latin… Panamanian to be exact. No, I’m not religious. Yes, I want to save the planet. No, I’m not above acting ridiculously silly. Yes, I have an opinion. No, I’m not perfect. Yes, I like myself anyway. No, I don’t miss my office job. Yes, I love being a SAHM. No, I don’t get bored, for goodness sake! Yes, I have hard days. I had one the other day.

I also love to hold my husband’s hand, read, write, make jewelry, take photos, travel, take long baths, talk, garden, cook, be near the ocean, paint, draw, be outdoors, ride on swings, stare at the wall, have a glass of wine and watch the bugs in my garden.

I’ve given birth, two times. Yep. Me. Whew! I’ve got a 2 year old and a 10 month old. I still have vivid dreams about the second labor. I had the epidural the first time around. I didn’t the second. My old friend, Pitocin, made an appearance at both labors. Thank goodness our Doula was present for both, too. I nursed my baby girl for 17 months, and I’m still going strong with my baby boy.

I’ve spent the last 3 years of my life either pregnant and/or breastfeeng. I’ve changed. My friends have changed. All of my relationships have changed. I am more me than ever before, but I’m new to all of this.

My husband and I have been together for 15 years. We have one girl, one boy, a dog and a fishtank. And yes, I’m all grown-up.
